Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about joining, reading, publishing, promotion, privacy and support.
What is My Blurbly?
My Blurbly is one connected book platform for discovering and reading books, building reader communities, publishing as an Author and growing book-focused work as an Influencer.
Who can join My Blurbly?
Readers, reviewers, Authors and book Influencers can join. Every account starts with Reader tools; professional tools can be enabled later without creating another account.
Do I need separate accounts for reading, author and creator tools?
No. One account includes Reader World, and you can add Author Studio, Creator Studio or both.
Where do I write a book review?
Open the individual book page and use its review section, or review a book from your library in Reader World. Your published review then appears with that book. There is no separate global review-writing page.
Can I edit or remove one of my reviews?
Your reviews are managed from Reader World. You can review their status and archive a published review from your private Reviews area.
Does an ARC require a positive review?
No. ARC participants are expected to provide honest feedback and follow disclosure requirements. Approval never purchases a positive opinion.
Is private ARC feedback the same as a public review?
No. ARC feedback is sent privately to the Author. A public review is a separate, voluntary action and must reflect your honest reading experience.
Is my manuscript public?
No. Editorial projects are private to the authorised owner. My Blurbly does not publish manuscript content through a public route.
How does an Author add a book?
Enable Author tools, open Author Studio and add a draft book or request ownership of an existing catalogue record. Only claim a book you own or legitimately represent.
What can an Influencer do on My Blurbly?
Influencers can prepare a professional profile, media kit, link hub, services, book-linked campaigns, audience work and promotion plans. Public work is only published when the member chooses to publish it.
Can I publish directly to social networks?
Not yet. You can plan content and record published work, but you still publish through your chosen social platform.
Can My Blurbly send newsletters now?
Newsletter drafting, audience consent and campaign preparation are available where enabled. Live external delivery is not active until an authorised email provider is connected and confirms delivery.
Where are book clubs?
Book clubs live inside Community as a type of group. Community is your main social feed; a book club adds a shared reading selection, schedule, focused discussions and club events.
How does My Blurbly protect my privacy?
Public profiles and publishing use explicit controls. Private manuscripts, messages, contacts and reading notes are not made public. Review the Privacy page for the full policy.
What should I do if I see unsafe behaviour?
Use the report control beside the relevant community content or message whenever possible. For an account, privacy or urgent safety concern, use Contact and choose the matching support category.
Are memberships available now?
Paid memberships are not open yet. You can join My Blurbly and begin with the available free features.
Will both monthly and yearly memberships be available?
Yes. The current plan proposal includes monthly and discounted yearly options. Final prices and checkout will only open after the payment and commercial review is complete.
Is Founder a membership plan?
No. Founder is a permanent recognition badge. Approved programme benefits may include Premium access under the programme rules.
Where can I learn how to use the platform?
Open the Help page and choose the goal that matches what you want to do. It provides separate start-to-finish paths for Readers, Authors, Influencers, communities and account support.
